Milton Keynes is where I was born, went to school in, started my first job, and where my family still live and work today. However, in its 55-year history, it has never had an MP who grew up here. Instead, for the last 12 years, it has been served by Tory MPs who have let the city down and refused to fight for our local area. I will be an MP who fights for our city.
This is personal to me – my family work in our local public services, my mum as a teacher and my brother as a firefighter. I’ve seen first-hand how more than a decade of Tory policy has undermined their craft and the services they provide. But in order to improve things we need a Labour government, and that won’t happen unless we win in marginal seats like Milton Keynes North.
I know exactly how to win elections because I’ve done it before. For the past seven years I’ve worked with Labour politicians to help win right across the UK – politicians like Keir Starmer, Sadiq Khan and Mark Drakeford.
And outside elections I have worked tirelessly to support campaigns that I believe in – working with Shelter on the fight for more high-quality social housing or working with Trade Unions on the fight for better pay and conditions for working people.
So get involved, because together we can win for Milton Keynes, and we can win for Labour.
Support the work of Milton Keynes council in providing safe, new and affordable social council housing, alongside tackling the scourge of rough sleeping.
Reverse the legacy of our failing Tory Police and Crime Commissioner by increasing community policing in Milton Keynes and leading a new local strategy to tackle the urgent crisis of knife crime.
One of our city’s greatest assets is our green spaces. As it expands, we need to keep Milton Keynes green and ensure residents’ voices are heard and protect our city from bad developments.
Campaign for cheap, accessible and green public transport for all Milton Keynes Residents – as I championed for young people through the ‘All in 1 Card’.
Campaign for increased investment in our public services after more than a decade of Tory underfunding – starting with delivering a fully funded NHS in public hands, and an education system which gives every young person the best start in life
Fight for immediate action to tackle the cost-of-living crisis, including a ‘real’ living wage for workers and welfare payments that rise above inflation to protect families and pensioners
Support Labour’s Green Prosperity Plan, including through a publicly owned clean energy company ‘Great British Energy’, to build a zero carbon economy and bring down bills for struggling families
Push for a more progressive taxation system, where the wealthiest pay a fairer share – beginning with increasing corporation tax on the largest corporations and ending the ‘non-dom’ loophole for the international super-rich.

Chris Curtis is the perfect person for MK North. He is kind, clever, knowledgeable, and a brilliant campaigner. But most importantly he has a compassionate heart. These are all the things needed to be an excellent Labour MP for MK North.
Chris was indispensable in helping me win Stantonbury ward last year. With his campaigning skills we turned a ward that is usually Tory into another Labour seat. Now we need him to do the same for Milton Keynes North.
GMB is thrilled to endorse Chris Curtis to become the next Labour MP for Milton Keynes North. Chris will be a passionate champion for workers - campaigning for a real ‘living wage’, an end to zero hours contracts and unscrupulous ‘fire and rehire’ practices. He has the experience, drive and determination to be an outstanding representative for Milton Keynes residents.
Chris was an invaluable campaigner in the run up to the 2015 election. Milton Keynes is in his heart. This next election needs to be about the future. Chris has the energy, skills and determination to champion the needs of MK North and hold the Tories to account.
Ask me a question, offer your support, and keep up to date with my campaign to be your next Labour MP for Milton Keynes North.
